Seems like Bath and Bristol's out..
Firm - Warwick (Industrial Economics - AABb + English test)
Insurance
-Manchester (Econs and Finance - ABB)
-Edinburgh (Econs - BBB+ b in AS-English)
Hard to decide.. arghh..
P.S: Yay!! Although I don't fall into the category of successful high flyers that enter Oxbridge / London universities.. ah well.. it's good enough anyway~

Hey! I've seen this before!

What puzzles me, is the sheer complexity of the human brain, that's far un-understandable although with the advances of science and humanity. Personally I've experienced deja-vu a few times, mostly in clumps, like one month 3-4 experiences, and then a one or two more in later months.

Some people offer the scientific explanation that deja-vu is subjected by anomalies in the brain function which I find .. sensible. It was widely believed that this experience (deja vu) is caused by the mistiming of a neuronal firing. This led the brain to believe that it was experiencing the same situation twice while in fact it is actually suffering from lag between the two cerebral hemispheres. There are also psychological explanations that say that deja-vu is the result when the subconscious mind is able to comprehend a situation quicker than the conscious mind.

But how about deja-vu that led from dreams? Once I had an experience that was dreamt about before, in the case.. for say.. standing at a corridor chatting with some people. The same thing happened a few months later, in reality. I don't find it freaky, but I find the experience, very.. interesting however unexplainable it is to me.

There is a suggestion that I came across. It suggests that when the subconscious recognises a real event to be similar to an event in a past dream. After sleep, the conscious mind usually forgets the events that take place during a dream. But perhaps the memory of dreams is stored somewhere deep within the subconscious mind, and during deja vu, the memories resurface.

There is the other point that deja-vu might actually be flashbacks of the previous life. But I think this is just a load of bull, if it was a flashback of the previous life, why would it be the same? If I base my deja-vu explainations on reincarnation, does that mean that I'm following the same pathline as the life before this? If that's the case, why are we even living a second life?

Deja-vu has also oftened been linked to medical disorders such as schizophrenia and temporal lobe epilepsy! I know I don't have those!

Anyway.. just an insight into this peculiar phenomenon. I'm telling you..the feeling that you get when you say "Hey! I've seen this before!!" is just unexplainable. It's like.. when a bulblight just goes 'Ting' and lights up in your brain. Kinda feels like spiritual enlightenment. =P

Simple

Sometimes I still remember how I was back then, and then I'll just smile and look above. Things were pretty sweet back then, so are things now, so simple.

I guess this year I'll keep it short.. and simple.

Happy Birthday.

Bloggers unite!!!

This is recently in the Malaysian blogosphere lately.
Bloggers Jeff Ooi and Rocky were recently served defamation lawsuits by NSTP.

For more information:

If this is what the gahmen is doing to us blogging community. This is time to fight back! I've never supported the paper and this gives me even more reason not to do so. To all those who are reading this right now, I urge you to look at this case, and do the right thing!

I feel kind of bad since I can't really do much but apparently this has gotten much publicity

Speaking of which I think I need to brush up on my legal knowledge already, since I probably might need it sooner or later in a place where anything is possible with money. Screw it.

As what other people said, don't support! The best way to fight is through financial means in the new world!! I'm going to spread my words to convince people to stop funding them!!

Bloggers UNITE!! We have the right to voice out what we think!! Taking this right away from us represents the failure and the collapse of social rights!!

“We believe that this case is groundless. It looks to us as though legal
procedures are being used as a way of silencing two of your newspaper’s
critics.”

WtF!! Got Offloaded by MAS.

Supposedly, my flight was actually 11.55pm. Flight MH 0002 to London Heathrow. I reached KLIA with my family at around 9.20pm, and stood in line to wait..............................and finally got to the counter after 40 mins.

Time : 10.05pm
Counter E14
Attendant: Mr Tee.. I have to tell you this. The flight that you are booked on, is very full, and we have to put you on the next flight to Heathrow which is 11.15 in the morning tomorrow. I'm sorry but this is all we can do.

And then... my parents just started blasting them, and finally she called a higher ranked officer to deal with us and this officer was blatantly rude. Aih, just keep things simple.. let's fast forward.

So we went to see the duty manager, and the poor fella had 5 rough days in a row. According to him, 5 days ago, a total of 50-60 people were offloaded. Today, he had to tell the same story and apologise to 39 passengers and a total of 80 people were offloaded.

Just imagine,
having to book 6 months earlier,
confirmed flight
confirmed tickets
confirmed seat

and when you arrive 2 hours before the departure on that day, you find out that some other guy took your seat. $!BN%7S!#

LINDSEY DIDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS!! THAT LUCKY GIRL!!

So.. he was really apologetic and even his MD called and asked about the situation in the airport. According to him.. MAS has some contingency / fallback plans, in case of an offloading, they usually put people into
i) Business / First Class
ii) Other Airways Economy Class
iii) Other Airways First/Business Class

Apparently, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, and KLM are fully booked as well, so few passengers can be transferred there. In the end, talk talk talk he checked me in for tomorrow's flight. yay.. and managed to help Hann and Lay Wei check in as well.

Tough call. Poor people. Apparently, he said the problem was with the Reservations Department where they hire all these newbie IT people and these people, with no experience whatsoever, just look at past data and try to extrapolate and predict the future traffic.. so let's say on one day they accept 20 extra bookings assuming that these 20 people won't arrive. so if the 20 people arrive that's offloading 20 people from the airplane!

In the end, everything settle.. got compensated rm600, plus one night hotel stay in Pan Pacific, dinner vouchers rm25 and free airport transfers. Not badddddd..

Notified Istee (looks like Hann gave me the wrong number and I ended up calling Sheue Yng instead) and spread the word.. Do good = Good Karma. =P

P.S: What I think is that some big shot pulled the strings and brought along his brother sister aunty uncle grandfather grandmother son daughter neighbour friend etc. hmmm stoopid peeple.

Offloading 80 people in a day costs
80x rm600
80x rm25
80x hotel stay for one night

$$$$$!!

Haih.. no wonder MAS is losing money..

P.P.S: I'm pissed cuz i missed my flight.

P.P.P.S : The Manager was a very very nice guy.. he needs promotion.

P.P.P.P.S : I'm flying Emirates/ KLM next time.

P.P.P.P.P.S : At least i get rm600 off the ticket and get to fly with Hann and Lay Wei..

--This happened on all flights from KL to Europe including Stockholm, Amsterdam, London.. =(
